Mysts are alchemic-constructs used to repel malicious ghosts, and other creatures. They're most commonly used to accompany travelers on long journeys through imp-infested areas. The incense that bellows from the hollow in their chest is a more reliable repellent than simply carrying iron. Like giant kites, Mysts spend most of their existence aloft, leaking clouds of incense that can be smelled for miles.

Update: Hey everybody, hope your new year has been going well so far. I'm back from my soft hiatus that was unannounced because life has just been hella busy over the winter break. Most of my time has been split among taking care of my parent's puppy, applying for graduate school, finishing commissions, annnnddddd going on a cruise!!!! Which was great and I was really lucky to attend, because my grandmother was originally supposed to go, but she back out. So yeah, I'm back.
